A few rules when thrifting:
1. NEVER WALK IN WITH JUST ONE IDEA IN MIND!
2. ALWAYS STAY OPEN MINDED!
3. NEVER BUY ITEMS THAT LOOK LIKE THEY CAME FROM THE THRIFT STORE!
Hey now! This is not really in depth but just the basics. You know 101. Now lets get started. Some of my best outfits honestly came from a thrift store. They key is to buy one or two garments and mix it in with brand new clothes. One of the best things about the thrift store that I love is the quality of the material. Frequent thrifters know that you can get a pair of sturdy jeans to last you a few years or that can be cut, dyed and sewn. Its never about where you got the clothes from but more about how you wear and dress them. I pride myself in being able to make a 5 dollar outfit look brand new.
In these outfit can you spot which items are thrifted?
Ha. That sweater and that jacket is thrifted. I mixed it with some pants I got from fashion nova and made it a winter look w/ some cute boots.
How about the one to the this one? Not that shirt but of course those pants. Perfect green pants ready for the spring. As you can see my favorite colors were green at the beginning of the year lol.
Whether you’re going to the office or going out you can get clothes from the thrift store. This brown top is a favorite of mine. I wear it usually to my internship. Its a great sweater for these summer days and the deep low cut V neck is an added bonus to let air through.
My best advice is to free your mind. You can always turn a different outfit into something else. Whether it be a pair of jeans you cut into shirts or shirts you turn into crop tops. You can find a piece for you. I personally love over sized sweaters because they can never go out of style. I rely on diversity when deciding what you wear. When thrifting sometimes I can be classy like Tracee Elis Ross or I can be edgy like Rihanna it all just depends on your mindset.
One piece can transform your whole wardrobe. The major key as I repeat is to always stay open minded.
